Conference & Retreat Center
Camp Newaygo, a branch of Newaygo County Community Services (NCCS), sits on 85 acres of land along a chain of lakes in the Manistee National Forest Region of southwestern Michigan. Our facilities and programs are accredited by the American Camping Association (ACA) and the State of Michigan.
| Location NCCS Camp Newaygo is located about forty miles north of Grand Rapids, Michigan on Lake Pickerel near the town of Newaygo. We are less than a four hour drive from both Chicago and Detroit, and only a ninety minute drive from either Lansing or Kalamazoo. Also, Lake Michigan and Muskegon are only thirty-five miles away. |

Facilities Camp Newaygo’s facilities include: Lang Lodge, craft shop, cabins, rustic outpost units, a central bath house, basketball and tennis courts, photography lab, and various outdoor meeting areas. Also outdoors, we have a boardwalk wetland trail, low ropes challenge course, sandy beach, campfire circles, and acres of woods. Our capacity is 150 to 200. |

Availability
Camp
facilities are available for rental between April and November (with the
exception of late June through mid August during our summer resident camp
program).
Food Service
Camp
Newaygo can provide full food service for groups, including a continental or hot
breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, and snacks. In addition, cookout and picnic
options are also available. In accordance with State of Michigan and American
Camping Association guidelines only NCCS Camp Newaygo staff may use our kitchen
for food preparation.
Program Options
Camp
Newaygo staff and administration can work with you to provide programming for
your group’s stay at camp or you may organize your own activities and
program.*
Our qualified instructors can teach and supervise activities in a variety of areas including nature and environmental education, challenge and outdoor adventure, swimming and boating, and arts and crafts. Please indicate on the registration form the programs in which your group may have an interest.
* Groups organizing their own programming must be sure that ACA and the State of Michigan guidelines are followed. A lifeguard must be on duty during all swimming and boating activities, youth campers must have adequate adult supervision at all times and all specialized recreational activities (such as archery and challenge course) must be supervised by an individual qualified in the specialized activity.
