NCCS Camp Newaygo has partnered with the Muskegon River Watershed (MRWA) to offer a “Super Water Fair” at Camp Newaygo. Through funds from the Fremont Area Community Foundation 4^th grade classes in Newaygo County will able to spend the day at camp learning about water. The morning was spent visiting 3 different water sources, including a sphagnum bog, and testing the quality of the water by looking at and testing biological, physical and chemical factors. The afternoon was spent with the MRWA and other environmental agency representatives who provided educational stations learning about things like what a watershed is, storm drains, pollution, rain gardens and many other topics. This program is available to any interested schools and can be tailored for grades 4-8.
