Camp Newaygo staff receives invaluable and rewarding experience working with campers during girls’ resident camp, boys and girls day camp, or parent and child weekends.
Camp Newaygo seeks mature, responsible people with camp experience who enjoy being outdoors, have a commitment to working with children, and who are dedicated and energetic. These qualities in a staff are required since camping experiences are a means toward a camper’s development.
The following are job openings currently available.

DAY CAMP DIRECTOR
· Organize and schedule day camp curriculum
· Help facility staff effectiveness, development and enthusiasm
· Run/Assist day camp programs and special events
· Manage Day Camp Counselors and assist them in facilitating daily activities
· Plan and run weekly overnight camp-out on site
· Strong leadership and organizational skills, the ability to teach and supervise children and staff and a willingness to help with all areas of camp necessary including non-day camp
LIT DIRECTOR
· Responsible for planning and leading training for LITs
· Assist LITs in planning and leading a trip
· Supervise and give feedback to LITs while they participate in their counseling experience
· Assist LITs in planning and implementing their LIT project and evening program
· Strong leadership skills, the ability to teach and supervise children and teenagers, and wilderness trip experience necessary

TRIPPING DIRECTOR
· Responsible for making sure all camp overnights and trips are successful for campers and staff
· Organize and plan Unit out of camp trips
· Assist staff with paperwork, planning and getting subs for their classes
· Work closely with program director for scheduling trips
· Make reservations for tripping programs
· Good communication and organization necessary
ASSISTANT WATERFRONT DIRECTOR
· Current WSI and LGT certifications and leadership ability required
· Assist the Waterfront Director in supervising, planning, and implementing Camp’s aquatic programs
UNIT LEADER
· Responsible for a cabin or unit group of campers
· Responsible for a unit group of campers
· Coordinate unit activities and assist in trip planning
· Strong leadership skills, the ability to teach and supervise children and teenagers, and wilderness trip experience necessary
RESIDENT CAMP COUNSELOR
· Responsible for cabin or unit group of campers
· Assist Senior Counselor with a cabin or unit group of campers
· Teach classes and serve as a leader in program activities
· Leadership ability and a variety of skills desired

DAY CAMP COUNSELOR
· Responsible for a group of day campers
· Plan and lead age appropriate themed activities
· Assist with weekly overnight on-site camp outs
· May assist with evening programs for resident camp
· Must live on camp at least 3 nights a week
FOOD SERVICE ASSISTANTS
· Responsible for assisting the food service director in various aspects of the food service at camp
· Specific job responsibilities will center around providing meals for groups of 30 to 150 people and assisting with food preparation and clean up
